The Frankfurt IT automation specialist arago receives for its iPad app MARS-O-Matic the INNOVATIONSPREIS-IT 2013 in the category regional winner Hesse. The judges described the mobile solution for simple IT benchmarking that helps companies to optimize their IT landscape, to be practical and forward-looking. For the tenth time, the Initiative Mittelstand awarded innovative IT solutions. The award is given to companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland that offer with sustainable applications significant benefits for medium-sized businesses.

IT Benchmark – quickly and at a glance

MARS-O-Matic allows companies to model planned and existing IT environments simply and intuitively, to optimize them and to determine the labour costs for their operation and does so work that previously took weeks or months, in seconds. Applications and architecture up to the technical infrastructure can be captured visually and easily understandably. Employees can share and collaboratively edit the data sets. Thus the app facilitates the communication between IT professionals and various departments. The mobile solution also provides important benchmarks for the comparison of outsourcing offers and shows potential for optimization of the IT architecture. The application calculates the labour costs for its support based on real operational data and thus provides a reliable information base for total-cost-of-ownership analysis. MARS-O-Matic thus serves as a basis for decision-making for different target groups within the company. CIOs, project managers and administrators receive the information they need for the evaluation of projects or outsourcing offers in the shortest possible time.

“With MARS-O-Matic we give companies an intuitively operable analysis tool for optimizing the costs, IT environment and internal processes,” says arago CEO Hans-Christian Boos. “IT is a fundamental part of a company’s profitability – and cost-efficiency and effectiveness are a must. The jury consisting of 100 professors, scientists, industry representatives, IT experts and editors honors this year 16 regional winners and 40 category winners. Companies from the ICT sector had submitted more than 4,900 products, services and solutions in categories such as cloud computing and business intelligence.
